The combined score of a game. The over/under is a bet on whether the actual result will exceed it.
The total is the sportsbook-posted combined score. The over/under is the bet on it.
NFL totals typically run 38–55. NBA totals 215–235. MLB totals 6.5–10. NHL totals 5.5–6.5.
Totals are driven by pace, scoring efficiency, weather, and key personnel (starting pitchers in MLB, top WRs in NFL).
