Play+ Prepaid Card
Play+ is the sportsbook-issued prepaid card used by most major US operators including DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars and Hard Rock. It’s expected to be supported by every Wisconsin online sportsbook once mobile betting launches under 2025 Wisconsin Act 247.
What Play+ Is
Play+ (operated by Sightline Payments) is essentially a Discover-network prepaid card branded to each sportsbook. You apply for the card inside the sportsbook app, fund it from a bank account or debit card, and use it for both deposits and withdrawals within the betting platform.
How Deposits Work
- Apply for the operator-branded Play+ card in the sportsbook app (one-time, ~5 minutes)
- Fund the Play+ card from your bank account, debit card, or PayPal
- Transfer from Play+ to sportsbook balance; instant
How Withdrawals Work
Withdrawals from the sportsbook to Play+ are usually instant. From there you have three options:
- Spend it; Play+ is a Discover-network card, accepted anywhere Discover is
- ATM withdrawal; pull cash at any Discover-network ATM (small fee per withdrawal)
- Transfer to bank; 1–2 business days to a linked checking account, no fee at most operators
Limits
- Min deposit: $10
- Max balance: $25,000 (varies by operator)
- Daily withdrawal limit: $2,500–$10,000 ATM, higher for bank transfer
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Fastest withdrawal pipeline available (instant to Play+, then your choice).
- Pro: Keeps sportsbook activity off your normal bank statement line items.
- Pro: Useful if you bet at multiple operators; each has its own Play+ branded card.
- Con: Each operator’s Play+ card is separate; funds aren’t portable across books.
- Con: ATM withdrawal fees stack if you cash out often.
